Inspiring the next generation of Gulgong’s actors, musicians, makers, tech wizards, storytellers, creative leaders and volunteers.
Gulgong MADS Youth is a youth-driven program empowering young people from Gulgong and the surrounding region to learn, create, perform, and help shape the future of the Prince of Wales Opera House. The program is open to anyone aged 13–24.
For more than 50 years, dedicated volunteers have lovingly preserved and sustained this theatre. By engaging young people now, we continue a culture where contributing to Gulgong’s cultural and historical life – including its Opera House – is something normal, expected, and valued.
This program fosters local pride and a sense of belonging, teaches young people the power of community and teamwork, and keeps the Opera House at the heart of Gulgong’s identity and social life.
