Inspiring the next generation of Gulgong’s actors, musicians, makers, tech wizards, storytellers, creative leaders and volunteers.
The Gulgong MADS Youth Theatre Group is a youth-driven program empowering young people from Gulgong and the region to learn, create, perform, and shape the future of the Prince of Wales Opera House. The program is designed for ages 13–25.
For more than 50 years, dedicated volunteers have lovingly preserved and sustained this theatre. By engaging youth now, we continue a culture within Gulgong where contributing to cultural and historical associations like the Opera House is normal, expected, valued.
This program will foster local pride and a sense of belonging, teach young people the power of community and teamwork and keep the Opera House at the centre of Gulgong’s identity and social life.
